Beautiful You

written by Carly Hennessy, Danielle Brisebois and Robb Boldt

You’re beautiful, beyond compare, I can’t help but stare
So full of life, inspired, like a lonely child
Your magical, your blessed state I appreciate
You stop the clouds from crying, I’m sighing
But you don’t see - who you are - what you mean (everything)
I wish you could see yourself through my eyes - try - cuz I don’t lie

Beautiful You
Oh baby won’t you come my way
Your beauty’s true
Don’t listen to what fools might say
Beautiful You
Oh baby I’m so blown away
With everything you do - You’re Beautiful

You’re spiritual, you touch my soul, you’re wonderful
Don’t hide it, shout it out and show the world
You’re lovable - you crazy thing - you’re so sexual
You stop the flowers from dying, I’m sighing
But you don’t see - who you are - what you mean (everything)
I wish you could see yourself through my eyes - try - cuz I don’t like

Beautiful You
Oh baby won’t you come my way
Your beauty’s true
Don’t listen to what fools might say
Beautiful You
Oh baby I’m so blown away
With everything you do - you’re Beautiful

Baby trust - that I need you much
You’re more than special
You’re my ultimate high
And I can’t believe you’re my lover
Do ya think I’d ever want another?
No way - I say - Come on baby lets run away

Beautiful You
Oh baby won’t you come my way
Your beauty’s true
Don’t listen to what fools might say
Beautiful You
Oh baby I’m so blown away
With everything you do - You’re Beautiful

I’m Gonna Blow Your Mind

written by Gregg Alexander

I really really, I really really
I really really, I really really
I really really wanna kiss you
But much more than that…
Boy, I’m gonna blow your mind

It ain’t too long that we’ve know each other
It ain’t long, but I know you got me so confused
I’m so confused
Ya ain’t never rushed me baby
We’re much more than a crush
So baby, take your hands from the wheel
I think I got something to reveal

Boy slow down…stop
Tell me how does it feel
Unbelievably hot
I really really wanna kiss you
You’re here and I already miss you
But much more than that
Your dream is gonna come true
Boy I’m gonna blow your mind

It ain’t long that we’ve been together
I’m so glad you’re my friend
I put my trust in you
I’m trusting you
I know you’d never hurt me baby
So get me outta this sure
And let your hands touch me so fine
Where the sun don’t shine

Boy slow down…stop
Tell me how does it feel
Unbelievably hot
I really really wanna kiss you
You’re here and I already miss you
But much more than that
Your dream is gonna come true
Boy I’m gonna blow your mind

Boy I’m gonna blow your mind
Hit me baby one more time (hee hee)

Boy slow down…stop
Tell me how does it feel
Unbelievably hot
I really really wanna kiss you
You’re here and I already miss you
But much more than that
Your dream is gonna come true
Boy I’m gonna blow your mind

Boy I’m gonna blow your mind
Do it ‘till the end of time

Surface Wound

written by Gregg Alexander

Yes pain, baby, is something we all gotta endure
You know you’re in good shape
When you got your hands on your navel and your thoughts are pure

So don’t go runnin’ back to that womb, Daddy
It’s just a surface wound
Yes yes yes
Your heart will survive it
It’s just a surface wound

Pain, mama, is something we all gotta survive
You know you’re in good shape when you’ve got your hand on that valium
And you’re still alive

So don’t go runnin’ back to that womb, Daddy
It’s just a surface wound
Yes yes yes
Your heart will survive it
It’s just a surface wound

Child don’t let go
Why lose that control (It’s time you listen Boy)
Why lay down and die
Fly

Besides don’t you know life’s a bitch babay
Don’t you know life’s a bitch babay
Don’t you know life’s a bitch babay
Ain’t that what they always say

If your world is doomed daddy, it’s just a surface wound
Yes yes yes just kidding
Yes yes yes
Your heart will survive it
It’s just a surface wound

You’ll Never Meet God (If You Break My Heart)

written by Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley and Gregg Alexander

Look at how your eyes are shining
I feel like crying
Ever since we met last summer
What a ride - We’re alive
They say that love don’t last forever I say - Whatever
Cuz ever since you’ve been my lover
I feel high all the time

Oh my love - I think you oughta know
If you ever go
You’ll never meet God
You’ll never meet God if you break my heart
I’d take it so hard
I’d take is so hard I’d just fall apart

Look at how your eyes are smiling
I feel like flying
Can’t you see that you’re my lifeline
Is that bad? - Please don’t be mad

Oh my love - I think you oughta know
If you ever go
You’ll never meet God
You’ll never meet God if you break my heart
I’d take it so hard
I’d take is so hard if we fell apart

I don’t mean to be making threats
But I’ve been around and you’re just the best
And I don’t wanna let me good thing go
Oh no
Oh no yeah

You’ll never meet God
You’ll never meet God if you break my heart
I’d take it so hard
I’d take is so hard I’d just fall apart

No One’s Safe From Goodbye

written by Carly Hennessy, Danielle Brisebois and Gregg Alexander

When I woke up yesterday
I threw my heart down on the floor
So please be careful where you step
When you’re walking out the door
Ain’t it funny how time flies
I guess we must’ve been having fun
It’s only now I realize
That I was the only one

Hey you - asleep in my room
Sometime tells me you’ll be waking up soon
Why’d you dance on my floor
Now I can’t dance no more
Hey you - love of my life
Is no one safe from goodbye

Hey, Hey I swore you were the one
Forgot to tell me what I’d done
You said you’d always be my angel
But even angels fall
Buy why you

Hey you - asleep in my room
Something tells me you’ll be waking up soon
Why’d you dance on my floor
Now I can’t dance no more
Hey you - love of my life
Is no one safe from goodbye

Hey you - asleep in my room
Something tells me you’ll be waking up soon
Why’d you dance on my floor
Now I can’t dance no more
Hey you - love of my life
Is no one safe from goodbye

Ain’t it funny how time flies
I guess I must’ve been having fun

Young Love

written by Gregg Alexander, David Munday and Sandy Stewart

How old are you?
Sixteen, sixteen
And so much more

I can’t wait
I can’t sit here waitin’ on the hands of fate
(They’re too slow)
There’s no way I’m gonna lay here with your lonely hands and just contemplate
I’m gonna master fate

Boy you don’t know where you belong
It’s right here with me everywhere
Gonna have to come on strong
If I really want to get your young love
Young love
What do I have to do boy to deserve you
When you know darn well I would never hurt you
Much less desert you
What to nurture your young love

Yes I’m banned from your birthday party
Cause I’m too much fun for your love
Gosh damn let’s get through this brain
You’re lovin’ my thing,
I’m sick of all this jive
I want a real good time
Uh huh,

Boy you don’t know where you belong
It’s right here with me everywhere
Gonna have to come on strong
If you really want to get my young love
What do I have to do boy to deserve you
When you know darn well I would never hurt you
Much less desert you
C’mon nurture my young love
Young love

You’ll never catch me
I wanna be with you
Depressed and cold?
You’re sixteen years old?
Let’s rock n’ roll!!!
C’mon show me the way
Young love feels so good inside of me

What do I have to do boy to deserve you
When you know darn well I would never hurt you
Much less desert you
C’mon nurture my young love

You’ll never catch me
You’ll never get my young love

I Need A Little Love

written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois

Well I’m too young to feel like this
I was so high I must’ve missed
I fell so deep into your arms
I don’t exist
We’re in a world where all that we believe in turns to dust
Have I lost the only thing that’s real that I can touch
I’m counting on your trust

I need a little love to make it
Just give a little up
I’ll take it
You got more than enough
I crave it
We gotta save it

Well I’m too drunk to drive you home
And I’m so famous I’m unknown
I feel you everywhere but still I’m all alone
We’re in a world where all that we believe in turns to dust
Have I lost the only thing that’s real that I can touch
I’m counting on your trust

I need a little love to make it
Just give a little up
I’ll take it
You got more than enough
I crave it
We gotta save it
Well I’m too young to feel like this

Get You Off

written by Carly Hennessy, Danielle Brisebois and Robb Boldt

Don’t it, don’t it, don’t it make you crazy
I’m so out of control
You don’t even know
I left behind an earring and it’s lying on the floor
It’s those little things I do
An excuse to be with you
Cuz you’re good at sending signals but you got no follow through

(Don’t you know)
Don’t it, don’t it, don’t it make you crazy
(What I know)
When you don’t know what you’re receiving
(Let it show)
Tell me, show me that you want me baby
(If you know)
I can give you something to believe in
What’s a girl gotta do to break your heart?
What’s a girl gotta do to get you off?
You act so nonchalant
But I know that you’re not
I left behind my picture cuz I know that’s what you want
It’s those little things you do
That make you do damn cute
No more sending signals
Boy it’s time to follow through

(Don’t you know)
Don’t it, don’t it, don’t it make you crazy
(What I know)
When you don’t know what you’re receiving
(Let it show)
Tell me, show me that you want me baby
(If you know)
I can give you something to believe in
What’s a girl gotta do to break your heart?
What’s a girl gotta do to get you off?

What’s a girl gotta do to break your heart?
What’s a girl gotta do to get you off?

Giving and taking
The love we’re not making
Is driving me crazy
Is driving me mad
Touching and feelin’
Is what we should be dealin’ in
Come on daddy - Don’t be scared
Here’s a little taste
Of what’s right in your face
Don’t you like it sugar?
Don’t you want more?
Not for nothing’
But you gotta give me something’

(Don’t you know)
Don’t it, don’t it, don’t it make you crazy
(What I know)
When you don’t know what you’re receiving
(Let it show)
Tell me, show me that you want me baby
(If you know)
I can give you something to believe in
What’s a girl gotta do to break your heart?
What’s a girl gotta do to get you off?

Rip in Heaven

written by Danielle Brisebois

Sometimes I look at you
And think I’ve found my love
With all that we’ve been through
You’d think we had some trust
But there’s a big blue sky
We’re swimming in
And I don’t remember jumping in
Maybe there’s a rip in heaven
The words you wouldn’t say
They left me so confused
Why’d you take so long
To state the simple truth
And there’s a big blue sky
We’re swimming in
But I don’t remember jumping in
Maybe there’s a rip in heaven
And it’s bigger than I can stand
Jesus take this outta my hands
I used to hope you’d feel the same
But now I know it’s better this way
I love you
It’s all I do
And there’s a big blue sky I’m drowning in
I think it’s time I learned to swim
Maybe there’s a rip in heaven

All Kinds of People

written by Sheryl Crow, Kevin Gilbert and Eric Pressly

There’s a time for love
And a time for healing
You can’t go back
And undo what’s been done
A word of mouth
Time is revealing
Just how far we’ve let this kingdom come
Hand in hand we’re finding our way
And today is just tomorrow’s yesterday

Some will die for you
Some would lie to you
There’s all kinds of people in this world
Turn the world around
Tear the borders down
There’s all kinds of people in this world

Yeahhhhhh
A kiss of life
And the hand of faith
A boy grows up into his father’s son
He learns to love
He’s been taught to hate
To carry on the way it has been done
All our lives it’s debts to repay
Maybe someday we can put the past away

Some will die for you
Some would lie to you
There’s all kinds of people in this world
Put your fear away
Find a better way
There’s all kinds of people in this world

In a moment things can change
One look behind and it’s never the same

Some will die for you
Some would lie to you
There’s all kinds of people in this world
Turn the world around
Tear the borders down
There’s all kinds of people in this world

Some will die for you
Some would lie to you
There’s all kinds of people in this world
Put your fear away
Find a better way
There’s all kinds of people in this world

Some will die for you
Some would lie to you
There’s all kinds of people in this world
Turn the world around
Tear the borders down
There’s all kinds of people in this world

Just Missed The Train

written by Danielle Brisebois and Scott Cutler

Roll over baby, the time has come to make a little bit more room
I’ve hung around you, it’s getting tough, I think I’m gonna break down soon
I remember, crying in the park, it was getting dark
Suddenly I looked up
You were my sky

So sleep darling
Why don’t you pretend we were just a dream
It’s cool baby
It doesn’t matter anyway
I’m so sorry
We got to the station a little too late
It’s such a shame
We just missed the train

Be quiet angel, don’t make a sound
Save it for a rainy day
Oh can’t you see me, through the clouds trying hard to find my way
Do you remember, drinking all that wine, we were feeling fine
Though we couldn’t walk a line
We were alright

So sleep darling
Why don’t you pretend we were just a dream
It’s cool baby
It doesn’t matter anyway
I’m so sorry
We got to the station a little too late
It’s such a shame
We just missed the train

Oh why’d that train just pass us by
Didn’t anyone see
We were stuck at the light
Or we would’ve made it on time

So sleep darling
Why don’t you pretend we were just a dream
It’s cool baby
It doesn’t matter anyway
I’m so sorry
We got to the station a little too late
It’s such a shame
We just missed the train

What I’ve Found

written by Carly Hennessy, Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley and Gregg Alexander

Found the moon but not the stars
Found the church but I didn’t find God
Found it easy but I tried too hard
Too hard

Found the world in my backyard
Found the tears inside your heart
Found my love but I was wrong
So wrong

So I keep on running
And I keep on falling down
If I keep on running
I can’t be found

Found the place we used to hide
Found the box I left behind
Found the secrets left inside
For so long

So I keep on running
And I keep on falling down
If I keep on running
I can’t be found

All I know - is I can’t let you go
But you seem fine
So I’ll deny
That I still love you

Found the place we used to play
Found the friend I gave away
Found the girl I used to be
Happy

So I keep on running
And I keep on falling down
If I keep on running
I can’t be found

No One Comes Around (Beautiful You B-Side)

written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois

Hey lover wanna jump your locomotion
I’m just a girl addicted to you motion
I’m a fool for your love - I wanna jump right in
Hey sugar did I forget to mention
I got a way to relieve a little tension
You got jewels that I love - I wanna break them in

But only love can make you mine
And only time can change your mind
So I’m waiting - ‘ticipating
But no one comes around
I’m here lying - halfway dying
Boy don’t let me down
I’m here waiting - ‘ticipating
But no one comes around

Hey boy, I never met nobody cooler
With just one touch - Glory - Hallelujah
I’m a fool for your love - I want you in my skin

But only love can make you mine
And only time can change your mind
So I’m waiting - ‘ticipating
But no one comes around
I’m here lying - halfway dying
Boy don’t let me down
I’m here waiting - ‘ticipating
But no one comes around

If you take away your love - you take away my dignity
If you take away your touch - you take away the best of me
If you turn away right now -consider that a tragedy
So come on - skate a little lower boy

So I’m waiting - ‘ticipating
But no one comes around
I’m here lying - halfway dying
Boy don’t let me down
I’m here waiting - ‘ticipating
But no one comes around

Carly's Thank You from the liner notes

“So I’ve come to the end, but it’s only the beginning (I’ve been told). In my big adventure (which wasn’t that long, but seems like forever), I’ve met a few people. Some I’ve become close with, others I barely had time to chat with, but all were equally important in the completion of “Ultimate High”. So here’s my live, and if I’ve left anyone out don’t get mad, I’ve a very short memory span. Firstly, to my mom and dad. Thank you for being the coolest parents in the whole universe. You’ve been there from the start, and helped me find and develop my #1 joy: “music”. Also, my sister, brother, grandad, aunts & uncles. Thanks for not only being my family, but my friends. Sorry to you all for the “loud” singing if you were trying to watch the T.V. I really, really wanna thank my good friends Danielle Brisebois and Gregg Alexander, the two most talented people I know. You became my friends, my family and helped me create an album that I truly love. To Jay Boberd and everyone at MCA, for believing in me, and giving me the chance to follow my dreams. You’ve been like a big family, and have taken care of me so much. Thanks, I love you guys. Thank you to Miles Copeland and everyone at Firstars. To all the musicians who worked on this record: Nick, Rusty, Paul, Matt, John, Lance, Chris, Larry, Lenny, Sheila E., Andre, Rose and Charlie. To all the mixers: Jess, Dave, Michael, Thom, Ash and Kevin, and to all in Soul II Soul: Ed, Mo, Gerard and Andrew. To Ethan, Bill, Sierra, and Pablo. Thanks you guys, you bring the music to life. I could not have asked for a more amazing group. Cheers to all in the ‘nard clan. What a mad bunch, you keep me grounded. I love you all, you’re the best friends I could possibly have. Thank you soooo much to Jenny Dare and her beautiful family. Jen, you’ve looked after me like an angel, introduced me to a wonderful group of friends, and kept me on top during crazy times. I’d also like to thank Harley Williams, Jess and Shari, Steve and Lori, Mac and Diane, Bill, Michael Lippman, Sandy Fox, Josquin, Ken, Brendan, Debbie (Gobnet) Smith, Brendan, Charlie MC, Fiona, Declan, Paul, Marie B, PJ & Dianna Smith and all the Irish gang, Bethany, Kipper & Leah, Willie M, Pickle and Gary. Thank you, to you all, you rock! And last, but not least, thank you, to you (whoever is reading this), cause you’ve obviously bought my record. I hope you enjoy it! Toodles. Carly xxx”
